  • The String™ Augmented Reality Showcase App

    So here we are, just a few days away from the official launch of our AR Showcase App on Feb 7th.

    There’s some great content for the inaugural release and we can’t wait for you all to try it out and tell us what you think. You’ll be able to download the image targets from the Showcase App page right here on our website, when it goes live on Monday.

    We’ve added a ‘snap & share’ feature into the app, so you can grab a picture of what you’re seeing and share on Facebook, or email a friend. And don’t just play with it at home or the office - print those image targets big and stick them outside.

    So why are we calling it a ‘showcase’ ? Well, we intend to update it regularly with the best new [game] demos, case-studies and other fun things created by you, the development community, over the coming months.

    Of course you can’t create anything unless you have the String™ SDK, but we’ll leave that for another announcement very soon….

    It’s been a busy year and a half for us at String, so it feels great to finally launch the website and blog.

    We know how eager everyone is to get their hands on the SDK and it’s not long now before we release. We’ll keep everyone posted here and on the usual social channels.

    These are exciting times and we’re only just starting to scratch the surface of what Augmented Reality will offer. We look forward to meeting some of you along the way.
